Welcome to Year 1!

We are so excited to welcome you and your child to Year 1.

This is a wonderful year full of curiosity, creativity, and growing independence. As the children make the transition from the Early Years Foundation Stage, we build on their prior learning and guide them through a rich and engaging curriculum that supports their academic, social, and emotional development.

In Year 1, we focus on developing early reading, writing, and maths skills, while continuing to encourage a love of learning through hands-on experiences, exploration, and practical learning opportunities. We value each child’s unique strengths and work hard to ensure that all children feel happy, safe, and supported in our classroom.

We are looking forward to a fantastic year filled with discovery, laughter, and progress.
