Herringthorpe Infant School

School Uniform

At Herringthorpe Infant School we do not have a compulsory school uniform, however we do expect children to arrive to school in clothes that are appropriate for a learning environment. We want our pupils to understand that having the right to wear your own clothes comes with the responsibility to make good decisions about what to wear. This means that clothes and shoes should be safe, easy to move around in, age appropriate, warm enough for weather conditions and suitable for an academic institution.

We ask for your support to ensure that pupils do not wear clothes that limit movement, hinder communication, are unsafe, too revealing or contain offensive slogans. Pupils wearing these clothes may be asked to wear alternative clothing provided by the school in these instances.

School uniform at Herringthorpe Infant School is not compulsory however parents/carers have the choice to purchase school uniforms should they wish to do so.

We believe that the affordability and availability of uniform should not be a barrier for anyone. Therefore, our school uniform is simple and affordable. Parents have the choice of buying branded uniform from suppliers or they can buy generic uniform from local supermarkets, such as Asda, Tesco and Sainsburys. If a branded uniform is preferred, it can be purchased from Pinders School Wear which is located at Rotherham Bus Station.
