Herringthorpe Infant School
Recorder Club
Recorder club offers the opportunity for a small group of Y2 pupils to learn beginner recorder skills. At recorder club children will learn how to correctly hold their instrument and to play the notes B, A and G and begin to read music. Children will learn play simple tunes such as Hot cross buns and Mary had a little lamb. We will develop our timing skills so we are able to play in time with the rest of the group.
Playing the recorder helps children to develop their fine motor skills and confidence. It provides a great start to learning a musical instrument which can be developed in the future.
